 Dr. Mingxiong Huang


Dr. Mingxiong Huang is currently a Professor in the University of California, San Diego (UCSD)’s Department of Radiology and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2004-present), the Co-Director of the UCSD magnetoencephalography (MEG) Center, and a career research health scientist and physicist at VA San Diego Healthcare System. Dr. Huang’s main research interests are in the development of advanced MEG source-imaging techniques, MEG with artificial intelligence including MEG-based non-invasive brain-computer interface, neuromodulations with transcranial electrical stimulation, and in applying MEG to study neurological and psychiatric disorders in humans. He has focused on MEG resting-state signal as well as MEG responses evoked by somatosensory, motor, auditory, and visual stimuli. Dr. Huang had studied normal subjects, and patients with neurological disorders (such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke or epilepsy) and psychiatric disorders (such as schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)).  He has been leading author or co-author in over 120 peer-reviewed publications.  Dr. Huang received Distinguished Investigator Award by North American Academy of Radiology Research in 2013.
